We are proud to introduce our team of passionate and dedicated undergraduate students from the Department of English and Literary Studies at Federal University Oye-Ekiti in Ekiti State. These students have a deep appreciation for the power of language and literature to transform and enrich lives.
Through their studies, they are cultivating critical thinking, communication, and creativity, which are valuable skills that can be applied in many different areas of life. Their passion for literature and the written word drives them to explore the depths of human experience, discover new perspectives, and challenge their own assumptions.
Despite the challenges and obstacles they may face, these students continue to work tirelessly towards achieving their goals and making meaningful contributions to the world. We are honoured to have such talented and dedicated individuals as part of our team, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success in their academic and personal pursuits.

Korede Badmus – Managing Editor
Grace Oni – Sub-Editor. Fiction & Poetry
Her credo, “everything good will come,” has never held as much truer meaning for anyone as Hannah Damilola Ojo, a fourth-year student in the prestigious Department of English and Literary Studies. MelHannie, as she is popularly called, is a versatile writer whose interests lie in thrills, Gothics, humour, politics, crime, and the unusual. Other than doing research on understanding the human psyche, mind, and essence, Hannah loves to sleep, eat, and try her hands at DIY projects.
ALFRED OLAIYA – Editor (Poetry)
Alfred Olaiya, naturally, is a poet with a focused inclination towards outright simplicity and precision. An avid consumer of African literature with an enthusiastic spirit towards the reawakening and upliftment of African culture and heritage. Olaiya has written several impressive pieces. His pivotal energy and interest in African stories, mythology, deities, and pantheons have been of a well-noted propensity, evidently echoed in his works. He, of course, also writes on a variety of life’s concepts. His favourite artists are Wizkid, Burna Boy, and, when needed to be poetic in his musical consumption, Beautiful Nubia and Brymo. He has been published in the Best New African Poets (BNAP) Anthology. He was also the second runner-up at the 2022 Spring Poetry Contest.
Oluwapelumi Jegede -Editor (Non-Fiction)
Oluwapelumi A. Jegede is known as Anike Beloved by most people in the literary space. She reads, writes, performs, and talks about poetry. After reading Selves: An Anthology of Creative Nonfiction, she often thinks about language and how beautiful forms are. She’s currently EWA’s Editor of Non-Fiction and also the Campus Ambassador for Mytherapist.ng, the online solution for those seeking mental health services and support in Nigeria, in Fuoye. She thinks you can ask her about Mytherapist.ng, books, writing, and poetry. She also thinks: handwritten letters are the best things after “let there be light,” black is elegant, Amala is a meal enjoyed by those who have seen the light, most times, defining is limiting, and she is a breather of seas.
